During 1994, it was possible to read at the streets of Berlin some posters with the statement:

Your Christy is Jew. You car is Japanese. Your pizza is Italian. Your democracy is Greek. Your coffee is Brazilian. Your holiday is Turkish. Your algorisms are Arabic. Your words are Latin. Only your neighbor is foreign. (Bauman, 205:33)

Who does know more about that? Please, share with us. Write in this TWiki what information you have about.

The book Identity, by Zygmunt Bauman, was our beginning to discuss and create the dance piece O EU, O CRISTAL E A ÁGUA ( THE I, THE CHRYSTAL AND THE WATER ).

We have been researching the relationship with dance and new medias and this piece are one of the results of this research.

The premiere of O EU, O CRISTAL E A ÁGUA will be at the Centre Choregraphique National - Pavillon Noir (Aix-en-Provence/France) in September 2007. This is one of the awards that Ivani Santana, director of this project, won at MONACO DANCE FORUM 2006. The other award was The 2006 UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts ? New Technologies.

We would like to invite you to participate of this project Your neighbor is foreign sending images that you consider representative of what does mean to be Brazilian or what does mean Brazil, in your poin of view.

We will select some images to present during the piece O EU, O CRISTAL E A ÁGUA and this TWiki will be online even after the premiere.

To insert an image, please follow these steps: 1. Make your register at the TWiki UFBA (have a look at the green box below); 2. Click ANEXAR (menu above); 3. Fill you login and password; 4.
